The first Sunday of Advent, the season of coming. The snow falls slow with stillness.
Between black friday and cyber monday is Advent Sunday, a holy day, beyond our time. A history of the celebration of the coming of Emmanuel, God with us, since the year 480.
The arrival, it means, this advent season. The snow arrived at just the right time. It came peaceful, and feel light upon the land.
Did you do that on purpose, God? A kairos time, I think.
“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.” ~Ecclesiastes 3:1
The white, more wet and weighty piled up, gently clings to the branches. It touches everything, nothing uncovered, nothing left un-white.
He came to cleanse, to wash us white. He came, and said,
“Come to me, all you who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” ~Matthew 11:28
In these holidays, these holy-days, we can remember He says, Be still and know I am your God.
Let’s celebrate slow and long this month of coming joy, letting the peace of the still snow, the peace of the One of who comes, sink and soak deep our hearts with his white purity.
Beautiful photos Cassie. I especially like the pine cone one.
